Tomorrow, my boyfriend and I are heading to Napa Valley and then San Francisco  for a few days to take a little vacation.  I am so excited for this trip.  We plan on visiting a good handful of wineries (including two organic ones), Café Gratitude in San Fran, a farmers market or two, possibly the Green Festival since it will be in San Francisco that weekend, and doing as any other healthy/green/active options that present themselves (we’ll be biking over the Golden Gate Bridge too).  Like I said, I can’t wait! ☺

I know I’ve written quite a bit on travel tips in the past so I won’t rehash that out today, but I would like to talk about how to dine out at a regular restaurant if you’re a raw foodist (which is what I assume I’ll be doing while we’re in Napa (Calistoga to be exact).  Probably not San Fran though since there are so many raw food restaurants and organic juice bars and cafes there :)

The key to eating out at regular restaurants is planning ahead by bringing a portable snack such as a snack bar, flax crackers, or some raw nuts or seeds (usually those on salads are toasted or candied). You’ll probably want to bring some sort of food with protein in it because most likely the salad you order will just be a plain salad with some fat on it like avocado and/or dressing and this alone might not be enough to keep you full until your next meal.

Also, having some dried fruit or a little piece of a dessert is perfect to have on hand if you feel you might want that after your meal.  Sometimes it’s just nice to treat yourself to a something sweet afterward, especially if everyone else is.  I used to put a little date rolled in cacao nibs in a small salad dressing container with me out to eat and that would completely satisfy me!!

When it comes to ordering, don’t be afraid to ask people to “customize” a salad for you.  Ask for a big salad with greens other than iceberg and LOTS of different raw vegetables on it.  Ask for as many colors as possible.  If the restaurant has any guacamole or avocado on the menu—great! Now you know they have avocados back there and can ask for avocado to be put on your salad as well.

For dressing you could choose a vinaigrette, lemon juice, or oil and vinegar on the side.

Others may or may not notice what you’re doing.  They won’t if you’re nonchalant about it.  But they might if you’re really uncomfortable and embarrassed about it yourself.  I’ve found that others are usually really interested in what I’m eating and will even comment on how good my salads look!

If people ask about your diet, have a simple definition planned and memorized that you can give them.  If you’re like me and don’t like turning the whole dinner conversation into one about raw foods, just say it’s how your prefer to eat or you’re trying something new out for a while.  (Raw Tip: choose your line and deliver it in a positive and confident way)
If you’re still not comfortable eating out but still love hanging out with your non-raw friends, eat beforehand and say you had a late lunch.  Just make sure to bring a snack in your purse or pocket just in case you’ll be out for a while.  I’ve learned by now no never get caught out (away from home), really hungry, with nothing healthy to eat!

(above: one more tip for staying warm: treat yourself to 30 minutes in an infrared sauna and warm yourself up to the core!)

I haven’t done a “how to” post in a while and since it seems to be flurrying outside my apartment right now, I thought some tips on how to go raw in the winter might be appropriate :)

How to go and stay raw in the winter time:

What I do is focus on lots of warming foods.  Here is a list of some of these foods:

  • Honey
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Roots (onions, garlic, beets, carrots, sweet potatoes, yams)
  • Sauerkraut
  • Dried Fruits
  • Cured Fruits (olives)
  • Seaweed
  • Sprouts
  • Certain Fruits (citrus, apples, persimmons, pumpkin, and other seasonal fruits)
  • Maca
  • Potassium-rich foods such as macadamias, sunflower seeds, avocados, dates, durians, persimmons, prunes, pumpkin, sun-dried apricots.

I personally don’t feel the need to eat cooked foods (I’ve made it through two Chicago winters so far!) but certainly, you can eat some steamed veggies or warm up your soups in the dehydrator or Vita-mix if you need to :)

Here are some other thoughts:

  • Wear more clothes!  Layers are a big-time must in places like Chicago!
  • Just like a cold shower increases your resistance to cold, cold raw food can increase resistance to cold weather.
  • You can try serving raw soups in warmed bowls
  • Eat more fats and sweet fruits verses green leafy vegetables.

While I’m on a roll with the tips, I came across on article in a fitness magazine on dealing with cravings and thought it was very interesting.  I decided to adapt it to a raw food diet.

How to address certain cravings

  • You’re craving gummy bears: you may need protein.  Having a hankering for sugary carbs is a signal that your body wants energy.  Eat some hemp seeds with spirulina and a bit of celtic sea salt mixed in.
  • You’re craving chocolate: you may need magnesium. Eat cacao beans or a bit of a sacred chocolate bar :)
  • You’re craving French fries: you may need some good fat.  Eat some avocado, seeds, or olives.
  • You’re craving salty pretzels: you may need some good sodium.  Try some celery juice, celery, sea veggies or water with seas salt added to it.
  • You’re craving meat: try adding more organic salts or spirulina to your diet.  You could also try adding miso or sea veggies to your soups, salad dressings, or salads.

Here is a pretty funny YouTube video I just watched on food :)  Enjoy the day.  Stay warm out there!

Today’s post is going to be a bit more passionate than usual for me–just to warn you in advance.  This weekend was a jam-packed and fun one for me.  I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art for the monthly “First Fridays” event Friday night.  Saturday I did my usual errands and then went to a friend’s house warming/poker party (I won two poker tournaments that night! Woohoo!).  And Sunday I went to my first Kangoo class at Crunch Fitness Gym (what a workout!).   Sunday afternoon, I went to a raw food potluck at the Funky Buddha Club with Tim VanOrden as the guest speaker.  So lots of fun stuff!!

But I was just thinking this morning after glancing at a few raw food forums and reflecting on the weekend: why do raw foodists make ourselves and each other feel so guilty and confused about what we eat??  Why must going raw be such a science?  Why do some of us still feel so unworthy about our diets even after going 100% raw?

For example, last night Tim said that he did not eat any supplements, superfoods, or raw protein powders, even though he participates in marathons, stair climbs, and other intense athletic competitions every week.  I think this really confused the heck out of everyone (yes, even me!).  But why should it have?  Everyone is so different.  Why does it matter what someone else is doing when what you’re doing is working for you?  If it’s not broken, don’t fix it, right?

Another thing that was sort of getting to me this weekend was everyone asking me if I was going to see Brian Clement sometime during this weekend.  Brian Clement is the founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute and was in Chicago all weekend speaking Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning.  The events all had $20+ fees and I am just not that into his approach of nutrition.  It’s just no fun for me (for example—no cacao or superfoods).  So I choose not to go see him.  I just knew it would make me feel bad about what I was eating too.  I would have been completely out of alignment listening to him.

But at the potluck Sunday night, it seemed like a lot of people were thinking that everyone should have seen him.  I was even given paraphrases of what he said, like how we should not be eating any salt.  But I do very well on salt, and I just don’t need to hear that.

Why are we making each other feel bad about our diets? After all, most of us (in the Chicago raw food community) are already eating a 90%+ raw vegan diet 90%+ of the time.

Also, what is the deal with this 80-10-10 diet?  It’s fine for those that it works for.  But it seems to me that it’s just another reason to make ourselves feel guilty about what we’re eating, since most raw foodists eat more than 10% fat.  Everyone (including me) wanted to know what Tim VanOrden thought about an extremely low-fat raw food diet (he said he didn’t believe it was healthy or sustainable, by the way, because fat protects us from a lot of stress).  But it was like everyone thought what they were doing was the wrong thing, and they wanted evidence from Tim that they should change their diet or something.

We are our own gurus.  Only we know what’s right for our bodies and our lifestyles.  I just can’t help but get annoyed when people in the raw food forums brag that they haven’t eaten anything with salt for a year (sea veggies, sea salt, nama shoyu, braggs, miso, etco) or any nuts and seeds for a year.  I think it just makes everyone else nuts!!   I think this is why I am not on the forums that much and why I DEFINITELY cannot eat a meal while browsing a forum or checking out someone else’s raw food blog even.  It totally stresses me out and causes me to overeat or feel unworthy or something.

Here is a great post on We Like it Raw that I believe from a person who feels similar to me about other people who post about their cleaner-than-thou diets.  Check this out–it is too funny!

Anyway, sorry about this ranting if it’s offended any of you.  I just had to get it out of my system.  Better out than in, right ?

For those of you who have heard or read my story, I’ve experienced some major battles with insomnia in the past.  Once for a couple months back in college, and once for about six months this year (yes—while on a 99% raw food diet).   It’s gotten significantly better mainly in the time since leaving BP and working for myself from home.  But I’m still always looking for new ways to eat (lighter dinner, earlier dinner, no chocolate or kombucha at night, etc), exercise (more intense exercise, earlier in the day exercise), and sleep.

I am so happy to report that I feel like I’ve slept an adequate amount each and every night this week!  This is SUCH an amazing breakthrough for me.  Five nights in a row!  What is an adequate amount for me?  I’m not exactly sure yet because it takes me a while to go to sleep at times and I get up several times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom (due to me drinking a lot of water after dinner in the evening).  But I’m in bed from 11 or 11:30 to 8 AM so I think it’s plenty.

I guess I thought that after being a raw foodist for so long (2 ½ years) that I’d be down to at least six hours of sleep a night but that is just not the case for me.  But that’s okay.  Sometimes I’m up until 1 or 1:30 am and I still can wake up naturally at 8.  I honestly don’t know what I’d do if I was wide awake at 6:30 AM anyway!  I work at home on the computer most of the day so I’m in no hurry at all to get started ☺

So what has been helping me sleep?  I really feel that the Barefoot Connections mattress pad I bought a few months ago has really made a difference in my levels hormone (mainly cortisol).  Dale at Barefoot Connections told me on the phone that even if you’re hormones weren’t off balance to begin with, not sleeping well for a few nights to a few weeks will definitely cause them to get out of whack.

I just love technology like this.  It’s like sleeping on the earth all night and letting its energy rebalance you, recharge you, and absorb all the EMFs from you (a very important thing when you’re on the computer all day!).  And you don’t have to do anything different to benefit from this sort of technology.  I mean, you’re going to sleep on sheets anyway, right?

I posted a blog on Barefoot Connections Technology a while back and you can read about it here if you’re interested.  Also, for more information on Barefoot Connections, or if you’re interested in getting a pad or blankets for yourself, you can call Dale at 800-620-9912 and talk to her.  Mention GoRawChicago.com for 10% off ☺  Even if you’re already a good sleeper, you can benefit from more physical contact with the earth.

Here is a fun new website I just checked out called Be Well Buzz and David Wolfe talks for a few minutes about the importance of sleep here:

http://www.bewellbuzz.com/general/david-wolfe-on-sleep/

I also have been sleeping with a zapper on a pretty regular basis (I bought one about three months ago).  I try to wear it in the day but I find it pretty annoying to keep on me.  I don’t know if this helps me sleep better or not but I feel like it definitely strengthens my immune system, which allows me to wake up feeling refreshed and healthy.  I got mine on Tools for Healing.  I got the Terminator 2 model and found it to be well worth the price for everything it can do for you. (I learned about zapper technology from David Wolfe and he mentions it a lot in his SITS program, although I don’t do the entire program.)

Note: Be careful when you sleep with the zapper on you because it’s possible to be “burned” or experience a shock from in when it’s in the same spot for a long time.  I’ve had this happen to me before and woke up with a grayish circle on my stomach!  It disappeared within a day though.

One other thing I do to help improve my sleep is I go to sleep when I am absolutely exhausted and can’t read another word (I’m usually reading blogs or websites on my computer, a book, or a magazine before I go to bed).  As soon as I can’t remember what I just read, or when I know that I can fall asleep within 15 minutes, I hit the sheets!  I got this from Steve Pavlina’s blog post on How to Become on Early Riser.

Sweet Dreams!!

P.s. If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter yet, please do so and receive an e-book full of green smoothie recipes!

Hi you,

I just put up a few polls on the right sidebar of this website (I finally figured out how to do this!).  Could you please take a few seconds to answer the questions below?  —>

I just want to get a better idea of who YOU are.  Thank you so much!!

(I’ll post some more raw food-related polls soon, I promise ;)

Today I wanted to do a product review on Elements for Life’s Immune Detox product.  This is a micronized actived zeolite product with ocean and plant derived ionic trace minerals.  Note: I just love how this company puts in extra little things like the Ionic Trace Minerals in its products for us.  So not only is it detoxifying but nourishing as well! (The Island Fire noni tonic has ionic minerals in it too)

So what are zeolites?  Zeolites are a powdery substance created when lava meets the ocean water.  Whenever volcanic lava is poured into the ocean, there’s going to be a zeolite deposit.  This powdered substance is then placed in some actived water to make it easy to transport and get it into our bodies.

David Wolfe has said several times in his lectures now that all vegetarian mammals eat clay and earth compounds as part of their diet.  They especially do this when they’re sick. It’s like they intrinsically know that it will carry whatever is ailing them OUT of their bodies.  (I’ve done several detoxes with Bentonite Clay and physillium so I can attest to this as well–it gets stuff out).  The clay also increases longevity.

Unlike other detox programs and products that release toxins in the body as their working, zeolites have a molecular structure that acts like a cage.  This gives them the ability to absorb and trap toxins in the “cage.”  The zeolites are then safely eliminated from the body when you go to the bathroom (toxins and all).  You can see for yourself the zeolite crystalline structure on the zeolite product page.

I immediately embraced Immune Detox.  When I worked for BP, my first role with them was as a gas station and convenience store manager completely in charge of running the store, employees, increasing the bottom line, and complying with hundreds of environmental, health, and safety laws.  In those six months, I inhaled A LOT of gas fumes while testing the pumps, cleaning, and taking care of minor spills by customers.  I was very concerned about this when I first got into detoxing a couple years ago and still wonder if any of these toxins are still in me and so this product is very important to me.

I happily stopped buying Waiora Natural Cellular Defense zeolites, which I tried just once and thought were way too expensive, even as a distributor) and converted to Immune Detox.  I have found them to be very good for the price… and the bigger bottles last a lot longer too (probably about twice as long as the NCD zeolite bottle).

Gabriel Cousens has done research on this and although he is an Elements for Life distributor, I think he is the one that really pushed the Waiora NCD zeolites into the market with that company.
I found a website with some research that he did on them here that may be good for you to check out as it gives considerably more advice on taking zeolites than Elements for Life does (although the dosage instructions differ).

http://www.bdezeoteam.com/Guidelines_for_Use.html

On the bottle of Immune Detox (2 fl. Oz) the instructions say the serving size is 3 pumps and this will last 30 days, however, I think this is a bit much and you will probably want to cut it down to at least half of that and disperse your dosages throughout the day.  I think that for everyone it’s going to be totally different and you should rely on your intuition and the feedback your body gives you.  But in this way, the bottle will last you at least two months.  Bottom line is start small and work your way up because this stuff is POTENT.

Here are some notes I’ve taken while listening to David Wolfe talk about Elements for Life’s Immune Detox:

-There’s only one thing that can really neutralize the free radicals- plutonium and uranium and this is zeolites.
- Zeolites are the best way to get mercury out of your body.
-Zeolites are more powerful than clay.
-They’re highly absorbent
-Taking zeolites can dehydrate you.  You need to triple water intake.
-Zeolites pull to themselves metabolic waste products, plastic residues, uranium and plutonium.
-Zeolites lead the field in detoxification technology.
-These are NOT the type of zeolites you should put in your eyes

And here’s a good question that was posed by a fellow Elements for Life superhero:
Is there a possibility that the gold particles in Gold Rush will be chelated by the zeolites?
Another superhero asked co-founder Adam Russel and Bonnie Carney (the BDE Waiora/Zeolite Coordinator) about this and got the same answer. The Gold Rush is NOT chelated by the zeolites.  So no worries!

Hope this helped you out in understanding a bit more about zeolites and in becoming aware of another great detox technology available to you :)

(above: Me as a gypsy for Halloween)

Yesterday I spent the entire day re-organizing my website tagging and categorizing each an every one of my previous 96 blogs.  (I can’t believe I’m almost to my 100th post!)  I hope you all will benefit from this.  I think that with the categories updated, and in addition to the search tool, it will be a lot easier for you and other visitors to find what you want.  I am working on adding in some polls as well.  I’d LOVE to know where you all are from!

Also, I was thinking yesterday: What else would you like me to talk about?  Sure I could take the easy way and do something extreme like a juice feast or mono meals for 10 days sort of thing on blog on that experience but is there something that you guys would really like to have answered that you haven’t been able to find on this blog or elsewhere so far? If I don’t know the answer, I could surely point you in the right direction!

So please, feel free to e-mail me or comment me some questions ☺  Thanks a bunch!
I stumbled across some new websites today.  The first was The All Raw Directory, put together by WendyDee.  Her website/blog is http://purejeevan.com/blog/ and also looks like it will be a lot of fun to browse through. Very cool!  I love the idea of the Raw Directory.  It’s like the yellow pages for raw food! I was happy to see my website on there too :)

I also came across the Random House link for David Wolfe’s superfood book coming out in March 2009.  How awesome will it be when millions more people discover superfoods.  I hope the raw superfood companies will be able to handle the demand!

I have been learning a lot about money lately.  I’ve been reading the Rich Dad, Poor Dad books as well as investment books and a few real estate books.  I’m paying more attention than ever before to how other websites and bloggers make their money as well.  It’s very interesting to notice!  Seeing as my Elements for Life businesses, blog, and investments in stocks and bonds are the only sources of income I have right now, I’m always looking for more ideas and for ways to improve what I’m currently doing.  I feel that as long as I’m providing value to others the money will come.  But I need to focus on this more and be more definite in my goals.

“In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it.”  - Robert Heinlein

This is the trap I fall into sometimes.  Do you ever do this?  I just watched a great video on YouTube by Robert Kiyoski last night and just loved it.   You become what you study:  I am choosing to study health and wealth first and foremost!

This is a long video but I DARE you to watch the whole thing.  You’ll be thinking about what he says all night long :)

I completely forgot to tell you about my infrared sauna experience last Wednesday.  I was doing a juice fast last week and decided to up the ante on my detox experience so I made a 30 minute appointment at Karyn’s Inner Beauty Center to use the infrared sauna.  In the past, I would just use the sauna at the gym, knowing how beneficial sweating can be in detoxing.  It’s free too!  But I’ve always been curious about trying out an infrared sauna.

As defined by Wikipedia, an infrared sauna is “a sauna that heats its occupants with heaters that emit far infrared radiant heat.  Unlike traditional Finnish Saunas, infrared saunas do not use steam, (which heats the air, and thereby the user) but instead use infrared radiation to directly heat the user.”  Therefore, infrared saunas really heat you up to the core!  These saunas are like private little closets with just enough space for one person to feel comfortable.  This was truly a luxury sauna.  There was even a pop out CD player and radio in there to use (which I totally did).  I was in there for 35 minutes and was dripping sweat like I never had before at Bally’s (I’m not much of a sweater).  I almost walked out early but I hung in there because I’m just hardcore like that ☺

I really just loved the experience.  It was $25 for the session so I found it to be pretty affordable and well worth it.  It’s probably something I’d do while detoxing or fasting only.  Or maybe when it get’s really cold here in Chicago and I NEED to be warmed up to the core.  That would be really nice!

Have any of you guys used an infared sauna before?

I thought I’d leave you with a recipe today since I haven’t done that in a while.  No Halloween candy recipes for you today.  But if you need some, I know Kevin and Annmarie Gianni did a show on how to make a raw snickers bar the other day that you can check out here.

This is what I’ve been enjoying almost every night for the past month:
Lenette’s Green Soup Recipe (makes 2 servings of soup so you can have soup for both lunch and dinner or have leftovers for the next night)
½ cucumber

½ bell pepper

2 medium tomatoes or a handful of soaked sundried tomatoes or a big handful of spinach
some parsley
1 collard green leaf
1 tablespoon of miso
1 tablespoon of kelp powder
3-4 tablespoons of lime juice (I use bottled Organic Santa Cruz brand lime juice for the convenience
Add rejuvelac (water if you don’t have any)
Blend until smooth
Add one ripe avocado
Blend until smooth
THEN…stir in some sprouts and pour on Spirulina Flakes and or Nutritional Yeast.
I think that this is seriously the best soup ever.
You could add garlic if you want too but I never do because my stomach doesn’t like garlic or onion very much.

(above is my favorite high-protein snack: equal parts hemp seed and bee pollen, add in spirulina, celtic sea salt and gojis and mix!)

I’ve decided to start a serious workout routine to build muscle.  I bought a couple e-books online on weight training and I’m going for it!  I’ve always been into exercising but I’m kind of ADD when it comes adapting a regular, consistent workout routine for visible results.
I usually either workout 1) to take a break from my computer or from intense thinking, 2) to get another burst of energy, or 3) because I like the form of exercise. It’s usually not to build muscle or get stronger.  I used to be really into weight training in college and was in awesome shape back then on the outside, but probably not as great of shape as I am right now on the inside with all the raw food and detoxing.

I’m in shape from doing this, but this month I’ve really launched a rocket of desire to be trimmer and stronger than I’ve ever been before–not bulky though, of course.  Have you seen Madonna’s arms lately? Yikes!

As I’m reading these workout e-books, it’s so interesting to read the nutrition and diet section.  I totally remember eating like that!  Eggs and extra egg whites for breakfast with an apple, protein shakes with chocolate milk, tuna fish sandwiches, string cheese snacks—an extremely low carb, low fat, absurdly high protein diet.  Not to mention eating all the time (5-7 meals a day).

I don’t see too many raw foodists being able to adapt this type of macronutrient profile.  So it’s a bit of a challenge to switch the muscle building/fat loss diet into a 100% raw food diet that will work for me but I’m doing it.  I don’t think I can do 20% fat (I function best on 30%-40% fat, honestly), but I can do higher protein (I just bought Sun Warrior Protein Powder and that’s a whopping 16 grams of protein per serving!), and I can do 5 meals a day (3 meals and 2 snacks really).  I don’t know what to do about the low carb thing though.  I guess fruit for breakfast only and no dried fruit?   I don’t usually eat sprouted grains and legumes unless I’m out at a raw food restaurant.

Also, these ebooks recommend logging in my calories into a website such as www.fitday.com but 1) calorie counting drives me crazy and I just don’t want to go there and 2) I’d like to see the website allow me to select “flax cracker” or “1 tablespoon spirulina” or “1 cacao brownie” on there!  Haha.

If I’m successful at putting just a couple pounds of muscle (and I will be), it would be awesome to write a small e-book myself on weight training and losing weight especially for raw foodists, don’t you think?  And maybe not this year but next year, I’ll celebrate by going to the Raw Games in Hawaii  ☺

A bit of a side note on the protein supplementation:  I was turned onto Sun Warrior protein after reading Mike Adam’s article on Sun Warrior Protein and hearing it also being endorsed by David Wolfe.  I used to use hemp seed protein but didn’t like the graininess of it.  Also, I had to put a lot of it in there just to get 12 grams of protein.  I know that I don’t really need extra protein to keep my muscle mass.  I know that protein is simply made up of amino acids and that I get enough variety of food in my diet meaning I get enough protein.  However–to build more muscle, I need more protein, therefore I need more aminos, and therefore I need more food.  Each serving of this stuff gives me extra 16 grams of protein (it’s a completely raw vegan product by the way) BUT it only gives me 70 extra calories.  That’s the kind of leverage you need when you’re trying to transform your body without putting on extra fat.  I mean, I wonder how much more food I would need to eat to get 16 more grams of protein?  I’m sure a lot more than 70 and I’m sure I would feel pretty uncomfortable with eating that much more.  So that’s my two cents on adding this into my diet…I feel pretty good about it :)

Another big change this week:  I decided to sell my Green Star Juicer for a Breville juicer.  After my 3-day juice fast last week, I decided that I really can’t stand using that juicer anymore, even if it is the top-of-the line.  Then Mike Adam’s article on Breville juicers came out and my mind was made up!  I took pics of the Green Star, posted it on craigs list, and within 6 hours, sold it to a local raw food restaurant ☺  I ordered my new Breville on Amazon and it should be arriving today! (Amazon had the best price around plus free shipping.) I’m so excited!  I’ll let you all know how it goes but I just know I’ll be juicing so much more again since this juicer will be a breeze to use and clean up.

Here are the last two of the youtube videos I did the other weekend in my “Superfood Kitchen.”  I’m having a superfood party at my place this Saturday and I’m pretty excited about that.  I think a lot of non-raw foodists just interested in how “Superfood Nutrition” sounds will be coming and I’m planning on really knocking their socks off with a green smoothie and a cacao smoothie.  Yummm!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Onward with the Elements for Life Product Reviews!  Today, I’ll be giving you the lowdown on “Gold Rush.”

Honestly, the Elements for Life website gives so much information on Gold Rush, a pure colloidal gold beverage, that’s it going to be hard to add to it, so I strongly recommend that you check it out for yourself if you want to learn all about it.  But I can surely pass onto you some testimonials I’ve heard as well as some notes I’ve taken from David Wolfe.

Here is a little tidbit taken from the website though:

“Gold Rush is micro clusters of 99.99% pure gold suspended in pure distilled revitalized water.  The gold micro-clusters form a natural ruby pink colored fluid known as colloidal gold.

“Certain rare trace elements like gold and other platinum group metals are being studied for their ability to nutritionally support higher potentials of mental, emotional and physical well-being.  Some minerals are very specific in their action and others like gold are very broad-spectrum and seem to effect the entire mind-body complex in very positive ways.  Due to mineral depletion of the soil and the habits of modern man we have far less of many crucial rare trace minerals and nutrients to experience peak mental, emotional, and physical states of well being.

“Everyone’s body chemistry and lifestyle is different and therefore those who supplement colloidal gold may experience benefits in different ways to different degrees.  An athlete might notice faster reaction times.  A musician might notice more creativity.  A college student might notice greater focus and retention of information.  A small business owner might notice greater productivity with less stress. An elderly individual might notice greater ease of mobility.”

When I tried Gold Rush for the first time I was pretty unsure of what to expect.  I loved all of the potential benefits that I read about it but it was a clear pink color and had no taste to it.  And I’m used to some very strong tasting with superfoods! (example: marine phytoplankton).    But after taking one shot-glass worth of it first thing in the morning for seven days I definitely felt more grounded and clearheaded.  I even started taking some before I went to bed (when my stomach was empty again) and found myself sleeping better and having more vivid dreams.  I’m pretty much hooked on this stuff now.
I’ve heard of ormus gold (David Wolfe’s product) and have been pretty interested in that for a while now, but at $84 for one ounce, it’s been a bit out of my league.  But colloidal gold is very closely related to ormus gold (they are both energetic and vibrational supplements) and Gold Rush is only $40 per bottle (for distributors) and lasts for a month.

Here is a powerful testimonial from the co-founder of the company, Adam Russel:
“The colloidal gold enriched my life in countless ways almost immediately. I recall after drinking 1/2 of my first bottle, my ability to concentrate, focus and retain information increased way beyond what I felt I had been capable of, especially being told I had A.D.D. my whole life. This was followed by intense dream recall and sharpening of my intuitive abilities, and an overall feeling of vitality.”
Now Adam says that his A.D.H.D. now stands for Attention Dialed to a Higher Dimension.  I love it!
Here are some tidbits on Gold Rush and Colloidal Gold that I’ve picked up from David on the recent teleconferences and webcasts he’s done (the most recent event posted below by the way.  This was JUST posted on YouTube this week.)

-Dave says Gold helps stimulate serotonin, which leads to increase relaxation and peace..
-You’ve probably heard of colloidal silver before, which a lot of people take when they’re feeling sick.  Gold Rush, or colloidal gold works to heal as well but on a more metaphysical level.
-It is a precursor to lucid dreaming. This is why so many people have better dream recollection on this stuff.
-Colloidal gold builds up your stress defense shield.
-Gold sits on the same octave as serotonin.  Therefore making you happier!

I won’t go into the whole story about how the founder of Elements for Life come across this (I wish I could remember all the details but I can’t) but he severely injured himself after a skiing accident and was in chronic pain for years and after discovering raw foods, superfoods, and colloidal gold, healed himself completely of all body pain.

That’s all I got for you!  Here is a little disclaimer on the above taken from the website:

“Notice: Gold Rush is a colloidal mineral nutrient only. It is not a drug, it is not a medicine, it is not a therapy or a cure for anything! It does nothing except supply the body with a nutrient it can use to operate at peak levels of efficiency. The sailors in the 1800’s who ate lemons discovered that their scurvy went away. Once the scurvy was gone they were stronger, pain free, happier, and probably a lot less grumpy. This does not make lemons a cure-all or a wonder-drug. Modern nutritional science recognizes that people who are deficient in certain nutrients may experience dramatic effects from supplementing the nutrients they were missing. Although gold does not yet have an FDA established recommended daily allowance, a growing body of research indicates that gold may indeed play a significant role as a nutrient supporting a broad spectrum of mental and physical processes.  These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, prevent, treat or cure any disease. This product has not been tested or approved by the FDA. This product is a mineral nutrient for dietary supplement use only.”

Here are some great new YouTube Videos of the last David Wolfe Event on Superfoods filmed in New York.  Even if you’re not interested in Gold Rush or Elements for Life, I’m sure you’d still really enjoy them.  After all—It’s David!  Have a wonderful weekend guys ☺
